Art has always had a place in my heart but it wasn't until the last few years that I realized that it is essential for my everyday life. Making art has become a form of daily balance and in many instances, healing, that I would love to share with others. I started my art discovery with painting, but I have explored many areas and really like the use of mixed media. Combining colored pencils, ink, and paper are just a few of my favorite supplies.
I am a juggler of many roles. Wife, Mother, Mixed media artist & instructor, housekeeper, taxi driver, chef and many others. I strive to create art as much as possible in this busy-ness we call life. I am extremely thankful for the time my husband and boys allow me to escape into my home studio and satisfy my need to create.
A big inspiration for me is MUSIC! I always have music playing and it always gives me some direction. My playlists always include a little Dave Matthews Band, Cake, Wilco, The Killers and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Those are my go to bands when I need to get it rolling but I find comfort in new stuff I hear on Pandora too.
Another inspiration is photography. I always have my phone and have found some really great apps for manipulating photos. The term iphoneography is commonly used on my instagram page.
I am a proud member of Art Abandonment.
A group of artists who randomly abandon their artwork around the world, simply to share the love of art.
